- The Scene:
- The first mention about this places comes from 1843, however the original building was most probably taken down and this cottage was built here around 1900. It's something called “vejminek” in Czech and it originally belonged to the big cottage next to us. Families used to build these smaller cottages for their grandparents, so that they would live nearby. Unfortunately, during the last few years this cottage was in a really bad shape until the previous owner decided to take care of it and renovate it. The cottage has undergone an extensive renovation to add two more bathrooms and overall comfort to our guests. It is located at the end of the village, so it's very quiet - perfect to get some proper sleep. You can go for short walks or a morning run into the fields that are just behind the house.
- Design:
- The interior is a mixture of old antique pieces combined with modern architectural elements. We are constantly looking for new additions into our home - visiting various antique stores and flea markets around the Czech Republic. Some of the decorations are legacy after our grandparents, some were given to us by our friends & family. We are also very proud of our 3 unique bathrooms - 2 in a modern style, one in an old-cottage design with wood paneling.
- Standout Venue Features:
- If you come during colder days, you'll have to make fire in our two fireplaces that we use for heating. You could also try cutting the wood, but that's only for the experienced guests. We don't want you to get hurt, so firewood is always ready at the cottage.
- Extra Perks:
- You'll find local and international wines in our pantry together with local beer. We also offer some fresh vegetables & fruits, so most of the time you'll find potatoes, onions & garlic together with some apples, plums, apricots etc. Whatever will be in season around your time of visit. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of basic groceries - salt, sugar, teas, coffees, homemade jams, honey and much more. The cozy beamed living space is stocked with games and books for you to enjoy during your stay.
