We’re not sure what it is about fall, but as soon as it hits, this escapism mechanism in our brains just starts screaming, “get me to a cozy cabin!” And as soon as that little alarm goes off, we’re off the races exploring tiny houses, log cabins, cozy cottages and A-frame getaways of every location, size and style. But don’t worry. We won’t keep all the goods to ourselves. Here’s a round-up of all the cushy, comfy, cozy spots we love this year, many that were suggested directly by you, our readers. Some have been around a while, others are brand new to the scene or just about to open. ICYMI: Autumn on the East Coast equals the perfect time to escape somewhere beautiful with your family. Why? For starters, the weather is perfection—it’s crisp, but not cold, and still oh so cozy. Second, off-season rates are in full effect, which means you won’t need to shell out major bucks. And lastly, many of the hottest summer spots are far less crowded this time of year, so you can actually visit monuments and beaches without being hit in the face with a selfie stick, which is always a plus.  But with all of that being said, finding a location that strikes the perfect balance between adult-friendly and kid-friendly can still be quite an undertaking.
