Venue Setting

Gather with friends, family or colleagues at this quiet sanctuary located at the base of Mt. Elbert, Colorado’s tallest peak. On 6 acres of aspen and pine, this private residential home allows fitness enthusiasts, outdoors-minded businesses and brands, star-viewing hobbyists and photographers to soak in the inspiration and relaxation gained from a stunning natural setting. (We call Twin Lakes Colorado's "Switzerland" for the incredible views!) Cycling and car enthusiasts love the home's access to Independence Pass, one of Colorado's most famous scenic byways climbing over the Continental Divide and reaching Aspen and neighboring Roaring Fork Valley.

Besides serving guests as an overnight vacation-rental property, the open-living floor plan and chef's kitchen invite visitors to gather for meetings, retreats, celebrations and more. The Wolf Den's wide flagstone patio and firepit offer incredible 180-degree views of Mt. Elbert, Hope Pass and the glacial waters of Twin Lakes. Sitting snug on the eastern side of the Wolf Den property, a custom-built wood and stone gazebo welcomes yoga retreats, corporate strategy sessions, seated dinners and more.

The Scene:

The Wolf Den in Twin Lakes, Colorado, sits in a quiet cove of aspen and pine just minutes away from Mount Elbert’s “South Elbert” trailhead and a 30-minute drive to Ski Cooper in Leadville. This is an outdoor athlete's paradise!

On 6 acres, our family's spacious home offers 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows and an open layout maximize the home’s incredible 180-degree views of Mt. Elbert, Hope Pass and the glacial waters of Twin Lakes. Listen to the buzz of summertime hummingbirds while sitting on the expansive flagstone patio. Or watch as a red fox explores fresh snow right outside the master bedroom window. Soak in Colorado flora and fauna at its finest!

Design:

Sleeping 10 in its main house with additional room for 2 in a private (yet attached) garage apartment, the Wolf Den's layout allows guests to either spread out or come together for meals, conversation or board games in multiple living areas.

After a day spent hiking, cycling, paddling, rafting, fishing, snowshoeing or skiing, you will truly unwind when you sink into one of our crisp and clean guest beds. A well-appointed modern kitchen and outdoor gas grill make it easy to cook for a hungry crowd. Dine at the large kitchen table or opt outside, where a dining table, chairs and unbeatable views create an unforgettable family dinner setting.

After dinner, roast s’mores on the outdoor fire pit, stargaze from the bubbling hot tub or curl up with a good book in the living room equipped with a gorgeous moss rock gas fireplace. Also found in the living room: a large flatscreen TV with DVD player and movies.

Standout Venue Features:
Bring new meaning to Mountain Pose when practicing yoga within the Wolf Den's secluded gazebo — just steps from the home's front door and surrounded by pine. Whether seeking high-altitude exercise or space to brainstorm with professionals, fitness and corporate retreat visitors will find that guests can quiet their minds and reconnect with nature at the Wolf Den.

On-site table and chairs (available for rental) make set up and tear down a breeze, and our carefully curated list of local vendors will take the stress out of planning at a remote venue.
Extra Perks:
Standard venue fee includes trash removal, which is a perk in a remote town with no access to city trash removal. Other perks include propane for the gas grill, a top-of-the-line outdoor hot tub and more.
