Venue Features
The scene:
Yardbird is a very modern and cleanly styled venue. The restaurant seats 65 people indoors and another 45 covers outside. The inspiration for the restaurant aesthetic is minimal design, however, very warm and inviting at the same time. The walls have white tile accents throughout the restaurant and there is also burnt wood accents as well. The floors are concrete and there is a lot of natural lighting throughout the restaurant, with large bay windows to capture the daylight. One of the most notable design features are fresh plants hanging throughout the restaurant, the majority of which are suspended from the ceiling.

Yardbird is located in the city centre of Zurich and the building was constructed in the early 1950s, built on a corner lot, where outdoor seating is along the sidewalk.

We opened Yardbird in September 2017 and it's Zurich's very first Southern Fried Chicken Restaurant.
Design:
To juxtapose the minimal design aesthetic, we have included a lot of fresh, hanging plants throughout the venue to give it more warmth and life. Additionally, we have suspended Edison Bulbs to create a dim, however, warm lighting effect.

The tables are constructed out of wood and the chairs are a mix of antique wooden chairs as well.

All of our chicken is prepared double-fried buttermilk crusted and pre-brined for 24h in a salt bath. Important to note is that our chicken is locally sourced. By locally sourced, that means the chickens come from within 60km of our restaurant and are reared by Swiss Guarantee

1. Chicken & Waffles: Fluffy Belgian Liege Waffles, Honey Butter, Canadian Maple Syrup, Buttermilk fried chicken + your choice of side dish
2. Seoul Style Wings - Our Korean-style wings tossed in a delicious roasted soy garlic & rice wine sauce, served with homemade pickles
3. Buffalo Style - tossed in our homemade buffalo hot sauce, served with a whipped blue cheese sauce and celery
