What Happens When Free People Designs Your Wedding Backdrop?
The Venue Report
by The Venue Report

Hidden in the heart of Glen St. Mary, Florida sits a charming historic cabin and nursery turned wedding venue surrounded by sky high pine trees and acres upon acres of forest greenery. This picturesque venue was home to Chris and Nikki Sirmans on their special day and we are all heart eyes over their location of choice. If you ever wanted to get married in the woods, these images will definitely solidify your heart's desire.

We recently partnered with Florida native and photographer, Kelly Martucci to share the inside scoop on the venue, the wedding and inside tips on how to capture the best "non-traditional" wedding imagery. Cuz' that's what the cool kids are doing now, right? Right!

This Vintage Inspired Hotel Let's You Experience Paris Without Getting On A Plane
by Scout

The NoMad Hotel in New York City is giving us dark and mysterious vibes and photographer Emily Kirke couldn’t agree more - The hotel's Beaux-Arts building served as the timeless backdrop for her wedding-inspired shoot. The photoessay starts in one of the NoMad rooms featuring a claw foot tub and ends at the opulent Library Bar.

As the couple advances towards their nuptials, we can’t help but fall in love with the vintage Parisian accents of The NoMad Hotel - and the way Emily Kirke so romantically captures them. We chatted with her about standout moments of the shoot, favorite features of the venue (distressed leather, anyone?!) and a little history and design insight into what makes the NoMad hotel so alluring.

Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel

1 Military Rd, Watsons Bay, New South Wales, Australia

Sydney’s Harbour is a cool combination of city action, beautiful boats, gorgeous sunsets and stunning views of the Pacific. In the quiet and quaint section of Watsons Bay sits a lovely boutique hotel that serves as a getaway to tourists and residents alike. With views of the harbor and a big park just next door, Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is a breezy, charming location fit for a fabulous wedding fete.

Photographer Russell Stafford recently captured a wedding for adorable couple Jason + Kristie Lee, who opted to use the lush Robertson Park next door to Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel for their wedding ceremony spot, and hosted their reception at the hotel’s modern party space. For those interested in a similar affair, the hotel is currently offering some sweet discounts on winter weddings, not the least of which includes a complimentary night’s stay, antipasto experience station, value savings and limited time special upgrade offer! Head on over to their site for deets and here’s a little info from the wedding planning crew over at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel.

Luce Loft

1037 J Street, San Diego, California

If one thing is certain, you know your love is strong when your S.O. encourages you to pursue your dreams across the country and fights to keep the love alive throughout your long distance relationship. That's just one small portion of Mike and Bernadette's love story that was founded in San Diego. After a year of Bernadette living in the hustle and bustle of New York City, Mike decided that he simply could not live with out her for one second longer and hopped on a plane to pop the big question in front of the iconic 1922 Jane's Carousel with the Brooklyn Bridge Park & Manhattan skyline in view.

Fast forward to the wedding where the couple decided on San Diego's Luce Loft for their west coast reunion and we caught up with them shortly after to get the deets on their happily ever after. Seriously, when the creative couple behind local San Diego brand, Tethermade, throws a party, you know it's going to be a visual masterpiece! We'll let the photos do the talking...

RT Lodge

1406 Wilkinson Pike, Maryville, Tennessee

Beautifully hidden away in a forest on an historic college campus, RT Lodge makes you feel like you’re staying at an upper class friend’s vacation home. There are acoustic guitars to play around the fire, where you’ll also find a s’mores station. There’s badminton, corn hole, croquet, and volleyball to be played. It’s basically your own personal estate while you’re there.

So it’s no wonder that dozens of wedding professionals descended upon this secluded sanctuary in Maryville, Tennessee. It was quite the picturesque event to behold. We simply had to know more, so we chatted with Katherine Stinnett, RT Lodge’s Group Sales and Marketing Manager.
