If You Want to Have a Gorgeous Wedding in Antigua, Book the Local Ruins
Jake Kilroy
by Jake Kilroy

There’s a good chance ruins aren’t on your list of dream venues—they’re certainly unconventional—but this wedding will absolutely change your mind. A spirit of class and romance still bounces through these well-kept Antiguan ruins, and lovebirds Adriana and Cesar made sure to fill them with their most fun loved ones for such a joyous celebration. Architecture like this—a stunning masterwork of stone, iron, wood, and brick—holds a timeless beauty for events. Each courtyard and corridor, surrounded by plants or water, presents a remarkable palette of rich, dark colors. Thus, between the oil paintings and full-body statues draped over rock walls, the wedding begins to take on a fable-like quality.

The ceremony itself took place in a hall that looked like a movie set cathedral for a period epic, and the reception seems to have been the party of the year. The wedding’s photo album probably looks like half history book and half fairy tale when put together. To find out more details about such a magical affair, we had a little Q&A with the wedding’s photographer, A Fist Full of Bolts.

This Couple Got Married in A Field of Palm Trees in Morocco

Dar Al Hossoun

Taroudant, Morocco

The look of tropical, greenery-filled weddings is a trend we hope never goes away. One of the most visually impressive weddings we’ve spotted with an all-natural surrounding, this wedding in a field full of palm trees and palm fronds in a little Moroccan village is one for the inspiration boards. We’re especially fond of the ceremony setup with all the cool rugs leading the way to a Mecca of palms and cool hanging fixtures. We can practically hear the beats of all those drummers from here.

A venue located just outside Taroudant, Dar Al Hossoun is nestled in an ancient olive grove. A big mix of traditional architecture and modern amenities, this desert oasis with its lush gardens and contemporary structures is an escape we’re adding to our wanderlust list. Life Stories Photography recently sat down with us to give us the skinny on this gorgeous ethnic affair and we couldn’t wait to share their photos and words.

Egypt Wedding
A Magical Wedding Adventure Through the Sparkling Land of Egypt
Jake Kilroy
by Jake Kilroy

Once upon a time, a beautiful German woman working abroad in Egypt fell in love with a handsome Egyptian man. Flash forward to their non-traditional, non-denominational wedding, with the bride a Christian, the groom a Muslim, and together one of the most stunning couples to ever tie the knot. International love stories like these make for some pretty gorgeous photography. This love story is no different. When Susi and Omar ultimately decided to get hitched, they recruited an Australian photographer to capture their love and special day in the country where they started as lovebirds.

Based in Melbourne, Eric Ronald and his partner Katie Harmsworth flew to Egypt to shoot what they described as “a particularly special wedding.” Ronald was thrilled by the chance to shoot at such dazzling locations landmarks. It was one heck of a lineup of backgrounds too—Saqqara Pyramids (Cairo), The Great Pyramids of Giza (Cairo), Khan el-Khalili Market (Cairo), La Maison Bleue Resort (El Gouna). So we decided to chat up Eric about what he saw from behind the camera and talk to Susi about celebrating with Omar amid Egypt’s grandeur.

Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards

5022 Plank Road, North Garden, Virginia

The great outdoors make a wedding seem gigantic. By having a soaring sky and an epic landscape, a couple’s celebration of love seems elevated right from the start. The big day feels as grand of an occasion as it deserves and Central Virginia’s Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards damn well delivers.

At Pippin Hill, even fall looks like springtime. With the rolling green hills of Virginia's wine country sparkling behind the wedding arbor, it’s pretty obvious why Lauren and Adam chose this timeless venue as the spot to begin their new life together (and party with their nearest and dearest friends and family).

The White Sparrow

The White Sparrow, County Road 2412, Quinlan, TX, United States

In Union Valley, a vintage white barn sits in an open field, sparkling in the wild Texas sun. Surrounded by oak trees and flower gardens, The White Sparrow is one heck of a peaceful retreat from the busy and bustling city life of Dallas. The owners have even kept its natural wood floors and whitewashed walls for a comforting sense of old world elegance. In short, it’s perfect.

That’s why graphic designer Danielle and computer repair shop owner Trent decided to tie the knot there. Designed, built, and still maintained by the Huerta Family, The White Sparrow is a dream-come-true venue that welcomes both boots and heels. Beyond its rustic yet chic grounds, a breathtaking country landscape ensures that every photo taken is a keeper. Danielle and Trent took full advantage of such a dazzling space with a white wedding with touches of earth tones. The pair’s gorgeous wedding was shot by Danielle’s good friend and former wedding photographer teammate Allison Harp. Both Danielle and Allison had a lot of great things to say about the big day and the killer venue.
