Two Girl Bosses Tell All

REPORTER: The Venue Report

Here at The Venue Report, the office culture tends to be different then most corporate enviroments. We have pink doors, disco balls in every corner, plants everywhere and leading the charge are founders, Cortnie and Donny Fausner. A married couple that started The Venue Report in their home. Throughout their journey of building this company from the ground up, the question, "How does your working relationship effect your personal relationship?", always seemed to get asked. Their response? "It doesn't. Plain and simple. We stay in our lanes and if we by any chance want to cross over we put our blinkers on. We love what we do and talk about work all the time. It's our other baby (Lola is what we like to call her offline) and doing what you love with the person you love is one of the greatest gifts."

That response inspired our February series, Better Together. There are so many rad working relationships out there and we are so excited to share a few with you! This week's Better Together feature commences with long distance besties and Girl Bosses, Renata Stone (also goes by Nata) of Big Bear Photo Co. + Knottery and Rachel Lunghi of Siren Floral Co. + The Romantik Studio. Together they are the ultimate dynamic duo after hours and during. Having colaborated on multiple weddings, photo shoots and even vacation iteniarys, these two share how they better together.

Locals Guide To South Tyrol
Picturesque South Tyrol Destinations
All Over South Tyrol
REPORTER: Jake Kilroy

It seems like any photo of South Tyrol could be a postcard. The Italian province is picturesque and dramatic with a rolling green landscape set against snowy peaks. Naturally, it’s a beloved destination for vacationers and adventurers, and it helps to have a local with recommendations. 24-year-old photographer Stefan Mahlknecht is one such guide. As his Instagram account wonderfully proves, he’s quite skilled behind the lens and his time is spent well outdoors around South Tyrol.

Having grown up hiking with his parents, Mahlknecht now spends his summers and falls trying to capture natural beauty, especially mountain scenery. Meanwhile, in the winter and spring, he mostly skies. “Skiing is my second big passion, after photography,” says Mahlknecht, “and I try to combine them more and more. Sometimes I get into a conflict where I don’t know if should shoot my friends while they’re skiing a great powder field or if I should rather ski down the mountainside by myself.” What better person to tell you how to make the most of a trip to South Tyrol? We thought the same thing and asked him for insider tips.

Alila Fort Bishangarh
REPORTER: Jake Kilroy

Relics of history, as fierce and formidable as they may have once been, can surely adapt to a new life—if lovingly restored. Such is the dramatic case of Alila Fort Bishangarh in the Bishangarh village of India’s Jaipur District. It’s an epic, stunning structure to say the least. Standing boldly atop a rocky hill—like a beacon of hope or power in some fantasy film—the fort is a unique example of Jaipur Gharana architecture, coming from both Mughal and British influence. It’s also ready to become your new favorite getaway.

This week’s #TrendingTopic is perhaps the only warrior fortress that’s been converted into a luxury resort. In the same structure that houses openings for firearms and turrets (known as burjs), you'll find multiple styles of royal suites and lavish public areas. It’s definitely one of a kind.

We’ve all heard about ice hotels and decked out glamping igloos, but this winter we’ve got our birthday bucket list goals set on the world’s first ice hotel to be open year-round. What’s more birthday worthy than heading to Sweden to chase the Northern Lights, sleep in an igloo filled with ice sculptures, and sip on one of thousands of icy cocktails at the Icehotel 365?!

This gorgeous, icy enclave of luxury igloo suites set in a small Swedish village emphasizes art, architecture, snow sports, and the joys of getting far outside your (typically warm) comfort zone. So go ahead and add some winter furs and puffy coats to your birthday wishlist, because it’s about to drop below zero.
