Cortnie Fausner
by Cortnie Fausner

From from the dreamy desert dunes in Dubai to waterfront whiskey soirees we have been spinning the globe on instagram. Beachfront oyster bars, raw loft venues that were transformed from 1920's department stores and a brand new barn venue in Texas. Yee haw! Photographers and designers played 'show & tell' with us and shared their favorite venues while on location, and our 'Reporter Radar' beeped as we discovered new private dining rooms.. Will you gather while sitting on the dock of the bay? Which way will you sway? Where Will You Celebrate?

Field Notes Clockwise from Top Left:

SHOW & TELL | THE BURROUGHES BUILDING, Toronto,Canada. Mango Studios snapped this photo while reporting, "The Burroughes Building in Toronto is such a unique space! An old department store from the early 1900's. One of our favorites." In addition to this raw venue space with wood details & exposed brick there is a rooftop terrace venue. History Lesson: The F.C. Burroughes Furniture Company constructed the building in 1907 as its flagship retail department store.

RESTAURANT REPORT | RUYI, Melbourne, Australia. Translating to 'as you wish', the name derives from a Chinese heirloom symbolizing power & good fortune. Working closely with design studio Hecker Guthrie, with a palette of traditional Chinese crimson & jade fuzed with oxblood & sage for a contemporary twist. The serene vibe, clean lines & delicious Chinese fare make this an ideal venue for gatherings of all sorts. A dinner party perhaps? A soft bridal shower luncheon? A birthday celebration? Any celebratory occasion will be right at home.

RESTAURANT REPORT | WESTWARD, Seattle, WA. "Food. Drinks. On the water". It's a win win when you dine here because every seat has views of the lake & city. Relax on the large deck with fire pit & beach area while sipping on cocktails or snuggle in the restaurants wool blankets in the winter. The 150 ft. dock provides boat parking for a meal or an afternoon whiskey. Host a dinner party for 10 or a full restaurant buy out accommodates groups of up to 150. Serve guests a raw bar & family-style feast! Ahoy Matey!

REPORTER RADAR | HISTORIC TREDEGAR IRONWORKS, Richmond, VA. How about an dinner party chock full of history & charm? The American Civil War Center at Historic Tredegar has a riverfront location & raw brick backdrop (you should see the inside) Spread over 8.3-acres this National Historic Landmark is on the north bank of the James River with views of downtown. SHOW & TELL | VILLA BAULIEU ROGNES, Rognes, France. M & J Photos reports "This venue is WOW". Enough said. Villa Baulieu is a "family house", the former property of the Counts of Provence. Relax poolside, stroll through the historic gardens of 22 hectares, a path through the vines takes you to the tennis court, almond trees, truffle oaks, olive trees, vineyards, landscaped mazes. Oh Provence, you had us at hello. The owners are happy to help you discover the region. Gather in the Château’s dining-room (24 guests), feast in the orangery beside the French gardens, or even in the lower courtyard where the fountain murmurs. Who's ready to host a French fete here? (We certainly are!)

RESTAURANT REPORT | THE GENERAL MUIR, Atlanta, GA. Who misses the good ol' days of delicious deli's? We do, we do! The General Muir "is a modern American restaurant inspired by classic New York Jewish deli, returning it to its hand-crafted roots." You will find a full service coffee bar, a bakery where all bread is baked in house & the restaurant serves a full bar. You can feast on the wood communal table, at the bar with honed marble & brass spun lamps & of course there is the gloriously bold black & white plaid floor. Newspapers  are hung by the bar with care. For dinner parties of 12 or more & other other special events contact Shelley! She is sure to make your deli dining dreams come true.
