Just as boutique hotels with giant swimming pools are synonymous with Palm Springs culture, so too are airstreams strewn on sprawling private properties in nearby Joshua Tree. Joshua Tree Acres shines not only with its cool silvery vintage airstreams and mid-century cottage, but it glistens with a sheen of sand-dusted golden desert light too. For the star gazer, the sand dune wanderer, the cactus garden rover, or the drifter in need of a trek through the desert, this is the kind of place that can make any day feel like the best day of the year. As such, we highly recommend you add it to the #birthdaybucketlist.

The Airstreams

Just a few minutes from the center of Joshua Tree and the entrance to the national park, you’ll find this collection of three vintage silver bullet airstreams. Each with its own retro vibe and private hangout deck space, these little accommodations perfectly suit folks traveling in duos. The communal clubhouse makes up for all the airstreams lack, providing a communal kitchen and living space alongside a gorgeous outdoor gathering table, and of course, a proper bathroom. If you’re traveling en masse for your birthday extravaganza, you can sleep about ten people on the property, so choose your party crew wisely. Speaking of party crew, there's also a hot tub and outdoor shower.

The Cottage

In addition to the badass airstream bungalows, there’s a sweet cottage at Joshua Tree Acres that’s sunlight-filled and solar powered. One of the first homes in Joshua Tree, this two-bedroom dates back to 1947. You can bet it’s full of vibe, vibe, vibe. Book this chill space with your friends and you can spend your b-day weekend lounging in both the sunshine and the moonshine.

The Scene

Whether you spend your days laying in hammocks in the shade and perusing the vinyl collection, or head to the nearby park to wander the expansive desert, Joshua Tree offers a world of wonder for the curious at heart. And if you happen to get hungry, be sure to check out nearby La Copine Kitchen for a memorable meal like no other in the area. Birthday dinner? Sorted.
