Created in partnership with our friends at The Land.
Deep in the hills of Mendocino County’s Anderson Valley, just over two hours from San Francisco, sits a sprawling property of rolling hills, towering redwood trees and fields full of wildflowers. Known as The Land, this spot has been trending in the corporate retreat and team building scene since it opened, offering groups a chance to cultivate community and get outside their norm. Here your team can spend a few days focusing on meditation in the wilderness, eating nutritious foods, wandering trails and rivers, and connecting to the earth together.
The Land has played host to various big brands, creating agendas that run the gamut from all about the land to multi-day events that use the grounds in a different way daily. They’ve thrown up outdoor movie walls, hosted huge outdoor yoga classes, and seen all sorts of dance-parties break out around the campfire. The team at The Land can customize whatever you’re vibing, just ask the big brands they’ve hosted already like SoulCycle, Giphy, LVMH, and more.
This sprawling sanctuary has been around since 1908 and is surrounded by the Navaroo River and Hendy Woods State Park, where you’ll spot a famous redwood grove. At The Land, you'll find 7 forest cabins with a total of 32 beds, 12 glamping tents with 24 beds, and another 4 houses with 25 beds total, so you can easily sleep a corporate crew of about 80 folks. Plus, there are tons of gathering spots on the grounds, so you can plan to pop up a few different party zones throughout the retreat.
The Land’s team of facilitators says they can curate “daily schedules from beginning to end, deftly integrating elements like early morning yoga and meditation, photo scavenger hunts, intimacy-driving connection games, all the way to team visioning and cultural integration.” Besides that, there’s a whole river to play in and tons of hikes to explore. All that and farm-to-table meals are shared throughout the experience. Sounds pretty bond-forming (and also just FUN!) to us.
We all need to unplug from the office and get into the outdoors, and The Land offers an experience that encourages people to connect in meaningful ways. Wake up for an early morning hike through the redwoods, feed the goats and mini cow, take an afternoon swim in the river, and gaze at the night sky’s stars. Pop up a mobile espresso bar that can transform into a dining space or lounge zone throughout the day, and pitch a nighttime movie setup in the evening. Because your team deserves some good ole fashioned R&R.
