Our TVR team recently explored Jackson, Wyoming and got the 411 on this stunning American West town (you can explore our photo journal here too). The town is buzzing year-round with cozy coffee shops, small boutique hotels, a stunning resort atop the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte and day trips exploring the National Elk Refuge. This is your guide to a trip of unforgettable experiences alongside friendly locals in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The first Aman resort in North America, Amangani is a luxury Yellowstone ski stunner in the winter and magnificent mountain majesty in sunny summer. Amangani translates to "Peaceful Home" and clings to the crest of East Gros Ventre Butte, some 7,000 feet above sea level and the town of Jackson, Wyoming. The 40-suite retreat is a year-round destination acting as an ideal base for exploring the stunning natural surroundings.

The coziest café to brunch at in town, Persephone Bakery feels like a kindred spirit with the way they care about food, design, nature and art. Persephone Bakery serves delicious pastries, Intelligentsia Coffee, sandwiches and cocktails. What Nathan Ordered: Winter Grain Bowl with quinoa, bison sausage, pickled onions, sweet potato and brussels sprouts and organic fried egg.

Can you imagine taking a horse-drawn sleigh ride in winter amongst an elk herd numbering in the thousands... because you totally can through Jackson Hole & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center. You'll see elk grazing up close and personal as you explore the center of the National Elk Refuge.

The freshest meal you'll have in town is at Organic Lotus, a wellness center disguised as a restaurant. Find all day service and delicious add-ons like super smoothies, snacks and cold-pressed juice. What Nathan Ordered: Club lotus, kale avocado salad and a crimson cold-pressed juice.
Anvil Hotel is a must stay for the modern traveler. It’s casual but thoughtful and strikes a chord with locals and guests alike with a balance that gives that “at home” feeling. Inside tip: Hotel guests can enjoy local beverage tastings Wednesdays during high season, live music each Friday in the lobby and adult hot coco (winter) or wine (summer) included in the afternoon.

The highlight of the trip: Amangani's Grand Teton National Park Tour. With Amangani's wildlife tour, you will explore the famous Elk Refuge and Antelope Flats (better known as the historic Mormon Row) near the southeast corner of Grand Teton National Park, all while passing hundreds of grazing elk, bald eagles, owls and the occasional moose off in the distance.
The Anvil Hotel's Italian Trattoria, Glorietta's serves handmade pasta and wood-fired cooking with expertly crafted cocktails and walls decorated with famous female badass western cowgirls. Living up to Glorietta's "you're a stranger here but once" motto, you'll be greeted with friendly faces for a proper dinner. What Nathan Ordered: Chopped kale, fried calamari, cacio e pepe, spaghetti, flourless chocolate cake and zeppole.

Dating back to the late 1890's when the first commercial buildings came to Jackson, Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is a historic staple to the town and an absolute must-see. Pull up a saddled stool at the bar or swing dance the night away at this truly authentic western bar.
