Venue Setting

We found a neglected treasure — a mid-century desert modern former Westward Ho with a Denny’s — dusted it off, gave it some love and made it into Ace Hotel & Swim Club. We have a few different spaces where you can hold any kind of event you can imagine — weddings, receptions, workshops, meetings or any other gathering you might need a lot of space for. They're all unique, inventive, handsome and welcoming. You can do taco or barbecue parties catered by King’s Highway by the pool or spa parties with communal treatments from the Feel Good Spa. All of our event spaces can be tailored to intimate or large, raucous affairs.

THE COMMUNE The Commune is a modern, 3,000-square-foot space that opens onto a small outdoor amphitheater and pool. It’s perfect for weddings, meetings, film screenings and family gatherings. The walls open up to a circular pool and views of the mountains. The natural setting creates a welcoming, dynamic environment that invites guests to open up and relax — one where they can get together, be receptive, creative and in a good mood.

THE CLUBHOUSE The Clubhouse is Ace Hotel & Swim Club's brand new, double-decker events space — a flexible spot perfectly suited for business meetings, private receptions, weddings, social gatherings, dinners and whatever else you need a big, well-equipped room for. Totaling 4,141 square feet between its two floors, the Clubhouse's first level features its own private patio space, while the larger second floor sports a partially covered balcony.

WEDDINGS We love having weddings here. They’re always different. The space is large and airy and you can make it your own. We offer friendly rates so everybody can stay together. You can have a bohemian-style barefoot wedding or a traditional, upscale ceremony. You can do it outside or inside, customize the space with homemade decorations and wildflowers or let us recommend vendors. King’s Highway caters delicious spreads that are fresh and flavorful and miles from typical wedding fare. The best compliment we ever got from wedding guests here was that they forgot they were at an event space — they just felt like they were hanging out with their friends.

EVENTS We also have events every day of the week, including comedy, crafts, reggae, karaoke, DJs, pool parties, film screenings, yoga, art shows, pop-up shops, wellness events and more. There’s plenty to do when you feel like it, but you can also just lounge around by the pool with a face mask and a Bloody Mary the whole time you’re here. We support that.

Venue Features
The scene:
Palm Springs is the desert. People come here to escape the city and recharge with the tranquility of the desert landscape. The Ace sensibility appeals to people who appreciate imaginative amenities and an authentic cultural context. Ace Hotel & Swim Club is the perfect desert complement to its urban counterparts in Portland, Seattle Los Angeles, London, New York, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, and Chicago. The laid-back atmosphere is reflective of its natural habitat embracing sun-washed, organic design. Built on the foundation of a 1965 Westward Ho Hotel, Ace Hotel & Swim Club maintains functionality and simplicity without sacrificing the renowned Ace aesthetic. Much of the property is an outgrowth of the original five-building structure, from the unearthed terrazzo floors in the restaurant to the rare, deep swimming pool from years ago. It's within biking distance of downtown and close to cool stuff like Joshua Tree, the Salton Sea, Salvation Mountain, all kinds of historic desert modern architecture and tons of great vintage shopping. It's also the best place in Palm Springs to get a laid-back massage or natural treatment at the Feel Good Spa.
Design:
For the Ace Hotel & Swim Club's interiors, the LA-based design team Commune built on the Ace penchant for authentic design and honest materials. Commune's collaboration with Atelier Ace transports the guest to a bohemian desert camping experience. Utilitarian and pastoral, Ace Hotel & Swim Club caters to the guest who seeks the simple and sublime. An eclectic assortment of local artists and designers contributed their talents to create a space with many voices. The grounds expand on this idea of community, with shared outdoor areas like communal fireplaces and patios that invite guests to come together.
Extra perks:
Indoor/Outdoor Venue, Wood Burning Firepit, Hanging Outdoor Bistro Lights, Date Farmer Trailer Private, Pool Wood, Event Chairs, Linens, Projector, House Speaker System, Private Restrooms, Private Catering Kitchen

Food Restaurants, Cafes, Bars, Lounges
This section provides insights into our diverse culinary and social offerings.
We re-invented the old Denny’s restaurant on the property. During renovations we unearthed a terrazzo floor, sandblasted the flagstone walls and re-covered the booths in saddle leather. The food redefines roadside diner fare and world desert cuisine as part of an American peasant food tradition — rustic, direct, resourceful, sensuous and social. The focus is on fresh, organic and local ingredients — a regional cuisine grounded in a sense of place. We understand that good food is first and foremost about a series of relationships — relationships in dining, preparing and sourcing. We believe that cooking should always be inspired but never pretentious — that food should be accessible but not ordinary. We liken the experience to an amazing backyard barbecue.
The Amigo Room — the original old ranch hand bar we restored to its high/low glory — emphasizes quality micro-distilleries and fresh mixing ingredients like real, squeezed juices, infusions and homemade syrups. Plus there's a poolside bar with outdoor seating.
Celebration Locations
This section outlines the various spaces available within the venue for different types of events.
The Club House
2 Story Stand Alone Building with natural wood floors, floor to ceilng sliding glass doors that can completely open and bring your event inside or outside
The Commune
A 3,000 square foot private event space with your own grassy lawn for a ceremony or cocktails, a private pool and a state of the art building made up of retractable glass walls that allows your event to be the ultimate indoor/outdoor experience.

Endless Summer: 40+ Glamorous Pool Party Venues From Montauk to Ibiza
Around the pool, gatherings take on a celebratory energy: a reception dinner lined with striped umbrellas, an after-party that shifts from black-tie to bikini, a birthday weekend where everyone rotates between swims and slices of pineapple. Families scatter into their own poolside rituals; one with a paperback, another calling "Marco Polo", and friends returning again and again to the water as the unofficial headquarters of the trip. The season’s final call for sunscreen comes with an invitation: gather the friends, stake out the loungers, and let the pool do the entertaining. From the salt-air glamour of Gurney’s Montauk to Aperol-hued afternoons at Soho Farmhouse Ibiza, these 33 pools remind us that summer’s best chapters unfold in chlorine and salt, in meals carried outdoors (or burgers nabbed from the pool bar), and in the ecstasy of not checking the time until the sun has finally clocked out. So sit back, recline your chaise, and bookmark this roundup as your global directory to the world’s most sought-after pools.
