Angama Mara Est. 2015
Angama Mara, Narok, Kenya
There are two types of wedding offerings we have at Angama Mara, over and above it being a wonderful place to get engaged or spend a honeymoon.
Maasai Blessing
- This can be done for newly weds or couples wanting to renew their vows
The blessing is held in our traditional Maasai Boma at sunset
The ‘groom’ is presented with a Maasai shirt, cape and walking stick
The bride is presented with a beaded Maasai skirt, top, cape and jewelry
The couple will walk into the bona with Maasai warriors and Maidens
After a traditional Maasai performance of song and dance, the elder of the Maasai warriors will bless the couple
This is a very elegant and low-key experience
It can be private or with friends
Angama Mara Wedding
- Angama Mara performs weddings for 30 guests, or 60 guests (I.e. The bridal couple has to take either one or both of Angama Mara camps)
Wedding ceremony will be performed on the deck overlooking the Maasai Mara 1000feet below
Angama Mara will organise a local priest to perform a blessing at the ceremony – however this will not be an official wedding, they would need to be married in their home country
The wedding will be followed by a wedding feast at the lodge, and whatever else the couple would like - music, dancing etc.
The following morning the newlyweds will toast their marriage with a private brunch for two on the Out of Africa Kopje

The sky melts into the endless plains in a vista so wide it takes your breath away. It’s a place where the romance of canvas combines with dramatic guest areas in a fresh approach to safari lodge design.

Inspired by the Swahili word for ‘suspended in mid air’, Angama Mara seems to float 300m above the Maasai Mara.

It almost goes without saying that the game viewing in the Mara Triangle is among the most outstanding in Africa.

Hot-air ballooning, watching wildlife, and visiting a Maasai Family in their home are just some of the activities guests can partake in.
