The Castle Il Palagio, a medieval castle of the 13th century, historic home, with extensive gardens, Italian gardens and a consecrated Chapel is located in the Chianti countryside, among vineyards, olive groves and ancient churches. The Castle Il Palagio, located in San Casciano Val di Pesa, near Mercatale, is the ideal place for parties, banquets and weddings, just 17 km from Florence. Space and capacity The castle, a real military fortress, and the scene of countless battles between Florence and Siena, in 1600 was used as a mansion by restorations that have made more hospitable its environment, refined with details of great elegance. Plants that have now hundred of years were placed around ancient walls. In early 1900, a new restoration in neo-Gothic style by the architect Castellucci, led to the decoration of the Chapel and the layout of the park and Italian garden. The interior rooms on the ground floor can accommodate up to 180 guests in one room. The rooms on the first floor can also be used for the preparation of the bride and the groom and beautiful pictures. The beautiful central courtyard and the adjacent gallery, beside of the medieval tower, can accommodate up to 180 people with table service. In the gallery space can be settled for live music, a dj set or a string quartet. The nights are all particularly impressive because innumerable candles and lanterns can be placed on the battlements and balconies. Upon request, the court may be closed with transparent marquees that are well suited to the spaces surrounding the courtyard and make a unique environment with rooms that overlook it. The beautiful Gothic chapel, with access directly from the court, may be used for a beautiful ceremony in a religious rite. The Italian garden and the park with central fountain, overlooking the beautiful Chianti countryside, are ideal for any type of event. They can be used for an aperitif, to diversify environments, or for the reception. On the small tower in the garden, can be made the cut of the cake with fireworks and bouquet throwing. These spaces can accommodate over 300 guests. In the garden symbolic marriages can also be held under an arch made of wrought iron, covered with climbing roses and flowers overlooking the vineyards and the hills of Chianti.
