Well, it’s about escaping the city for a change of lifestyle. The idea was to create a rental property that would combine the very best of French rural living with a degree of sophistication in the interior decoration, the quality of the food on offer and the overall experience. So whilst the interior is contemporary in style, it’s still very approachable and comfortable. The region is mostly rolling countryside with large wooded areas, lakes and rivers and above all very peaceful. The 2000 year old city of Limoges is one of France’s 139 ‘Towns and Regions of Art and History’ and is less than an hour by car and worth spending a day visiting. Nearly 50% of all the porcelain in France still comes from Limoges and there are factory shops and museum tours from all the major companies still based here. There’s also an interesting mediaeval quarter with its half-timbered housing known as the ‘butchers’ district’ where you can sample local produce at one of the many restaurants.
