In the heart of an exceptional domain, one’s gaze takes in the hills of Provence as far as the eye can see, settles on the formal French-style garden and its ponds, wanders along an olive grove, meets with a chapel, stops on a remarkable tree, escapes into fast-flowing waterfalls. The Domaine de la Baume was the last home of Bernard Buffet and was a tremendous source of inspiration for the painter. The house, a majestic building placed between the earth and sky, has a prestigious elegance that sets it apart. Its ochre façade with bright touches provided by sky blue shutters, its stone inner courtyard and its windows that look out onto nature are an ode to Provence. Inside, the decoration provides an elegant, colourful reinterpretation of 18th century style.

It’s action time in the kitchen. The chef François Martin is back from the market and the Domaine’s vegetable
garden. On the menu, dishes and suggestions of the day vary according to his inspiration of the moment and the
fresh produce from small local producers. Delicious, simple Provençal cuisine at its best. Perhaps discover the flavour
of honey from the domaine’s beehives or of the house olive oil that is pressed at Aups oil mill, and which make local
dishes what they are.

The wedding venue gives exclusivity to the bride and groom over the hotel. All the 15 rooms (30 guests) will be booked for the event for a minimum stay of 2 nights up to 4 nights. The bastide is a majestic building, placed between the earth and the sky, with a prestigious elegance that makes it stand out. It was the last home of Bernard Buffet and a tremendous source of inspiration for the painter. In the shade of the chestnut trees, its ochre façade with bright touches provided by sky blue shutters, its stone inner courtyard and its windows that look out onto nature are an ode to Provence. Inside, the walls are adorned with the warm colours of the South, orange, emerald green, electric blue, creating the stage for a very fine collection of antique furniture. Each of the lounge areas is cosier and more delightful than the previous one, offering endless invitations to daydream a little, curl up with a book in an armchair by the fireplace, engage in animated, passionate discussions over a Provençal aperitif... One could almost forget about the shady terraces that afford panoramic views of the verdant Provençal surroundings.

This exceptional domain deserves exceptional cuisine. And according to François Martin, the Chef at the Domaine de la Baume, exceptional cuisine comes above all from selecting produce that is... exceptional!
François Martin enjoys being creative and working to obtain complete harmony between a vegetable, a type of meat or fish, a spice and a sauce using the jus plus a reduction of the cooking juices. He lovingly selects each ingredient to showcase one element of the dish, a dish of exceptional flavour, A method on which he places no limits, resulting in simple, delectable and delicious dishes of great finesse.

The sweet selection also brings flavours to the fore... Elodie Martin, Head Pastry Chef, takes pride in showcasing superbly sweet, juicy fruit from the South of France. Apricots, peaches, figs, lemons, all chosen in the orchards around Tourtour or in the local area. The olive oil takes on a fondant quality in a sorbet or crunchy texture in a macaroon. A gourmet getaway awaits you at Domaine de la Baume!
