Our property is set on 5 acres in a very small community called Old Cottage Grove that was settled in 1843. The very small town is surrounded by active farm fields. On the property is one of Minnesota's oldest lived in homes dating back to 1850 along with the a dairy barn built in 1947.

At Historic John P. Furber Farm, make your wedding ceremony and/or reception a day to remember. The Historic Gothic Arched Roof Dairy Barn boasts over 8,000 square feet, large enough to host your event for up to 500 of your guests. An additional 3,000 square foot addition with attached separate bride & grooms suite and very large men and women bathrooms!

Old Cottage Grove was settled in 1843 by New England settlers recreating the East’s Greek Revival architecture in the historic homes built. The barn is located in a small rural community, and only minutes from the Twin Cities. It is surrounded by woods, pastures, farm fields and parks.

Venue Features

The Scene:: Our property is set on 5 acres in a very small community called Old Cottage Grove that was settled in 1843. The very small town is surrounded by active farm fields. On the property is one of Minnesota's oldest lived in homes dating back to 1850 along with the a dairy barn built in 1947.
Design:: The home has an Italianate design that comes from the the East Coast of the United States. The Gothic Arched Roof Dairy Barn was used for milking cows up to 1971. It stored many things over the years until it was remodeled in 2015 to become a wedding and event center. There is a new addition attached to the barn that provides a bridal suite, groom suite and public restrooms.
Standout Venue Features:: There is ample parking for up to 500 guests in the heated and air conditioned barn. The most remarkable thing is for guests to make an entrance into the barn venue and never have to leave. Everything is under "one roof."
Extra Perks:: We include 60" round tables and chairs for 500 guests along with 8 banquet tables, 4 portable banquet tables and 14 high top tables.
