J&D farms is small boutique wedding venue nestled in the picturesque foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. Guests are greeted by 80 acres of rolling pastureland, lush gardens and a vintage apple orchard all creating the perfect backdrop for the highlight of the property. A stunning Dutch style timber framed barn crafted utilizing reclaimed and re-purposed materials rich in patina with an appreciation of historical design and craftsmanship.

Each rental also includes access to the Carriage House Bridal Suite on the day of your wedding so that you may use it for dressing and photography. It is also available for overnight accommodations as a Honeymoon Cottage. The Carriage House is a 1100 sq ft. cottage featuring vaulted timber framed wood ceilings by local barn builders, hand crafted chandelier, veranda with breakfast patio, two bathrooms, indoor/outdoor shower with rainfall head and body jets, claw foot bathtub with double French doors opening to a private balcony with stunning view of the orchard and barn, dressing room, gas fireplace, full kitchen, 42” flatscreen television, satellite tv, and free Wifi access.

The Scene:
A pair of beautiful stone columns adorned with lovely gas lanterns and a colonnade of antique rose bushes frame the entry as guest arrive on the grounds. The appalachian mountain creates a prefect backdrop for the Dutch Style Barn that sets atop the highest point of the pastureland.
Design:
With it’s rough sawn timbers, 26ft vaulted ceilings, reclaimed heart pine floors, antique iron hardware, beautiful chandeliers and creative lighting, its easy to understand why J&D farms was chosen as one of the top 25 Barn Wedding Venues in the United States in 2015. Through thoughtful design and material selections, great effort was taken to give the barn a look and feel of a being a century old, yet with modern amenities creatively interwoven to allow for a comfortable and enjoyable experience by your guest.
Standout Venue Features:
The beautiful countryside, rolling pastureland, lush gardens, unique Carriage House Bridal Suite & Honeymoon Cottage alone make the venue noteworthy. However the vintage apple orchard along with the Dutch style barn are most certainly the most unique and outstanding features of the property. The Apple Orchard, located on a small knoll just beside the barn, contains a grove of lovely old apple trees with low, sweeping branches. A colonnade is formed by the trees, leading to a charming cross tie bridge which is used by the bride to enter the grove on wedding day. Along with the barn, it’s the perfect celebration of the simplistic beauty of nature, with the vintage elegance of southern charm. 
Extra Perks:
Along with every rental brides are welcome to utilize our library of vintage Pinterest inspired pieces at no additional charge. Included is an assortment of primitive tools, antique blue Mason jars, wood crates, authentic whisky barrels, giant wooden spools (used as display tables) and a collection of tree stump and barn wood cake bases. For the ceremony we have a hand made arbor crafted from vintage barn wood, as well as a 9ft tall barn wood cross, both fit perfectly in the Orchard. We also offer a set of antique white washed doors fashioned into an elegant pergola that is perfect for your big reveal or a first look in the orchard. There are also one of a kind pieces, such as our hand made farm 9ft. buffet table, double basin wash /tubs, tobacco baskets and a six foot long antique Chicago Chop Block (perfect to use as a bar area). We also have a set of synthetic burlap table cloths to fit each of our tables. And our most recent and exciting addition to the farm is our Vintage Seating Collection which is now available! This collection features 18 Vintage Barn Wood Farm Tables (seats 6-8), 100 beautiful X-Back Oak Farm Chairs, 36 Barn Wood Benches (seats 4 per bench) and 16 Antique Whitewashed Church Pews (seats 10 per pew). Each collection is available in full or half sets, and rental includes set-up and take-down.
