Your Highland Home
Killiehuntly will give you a sense of belonging.
Maybe you’ll feel like walking down memory lane re-living happy moments. Or the freedom felt by breathing fresh air, getting the wind in your face while walking heather clad hills. Killiehuntly is your hide-away for that special personal and private time.
- Design:
Our House: Introducing a woman’s touch to the masculine Scottish traditions.
We call the style we have introduced Scandi-Scot because we think it represents the best of the delicate contemporary Danish styles mixed with the raw and straight forward Scottish farmhouse. Take for example the “Bamse Chair” – A Danish classic here dressed up with curly sheepskin. The interior decorative inspiration comes from Hammershøj, Carl Holsøe and Per Ilsted. The style of “Gold-age” painters transfers to modern photography of Trine Søndergaard (Golden Necks). Beautiful, simple and yet another example of how old and new join in exiting ways at Killiehuntly. The art work displays a kind of feminism and fine old craftsmanship.
With only four rooms, a cottage and a cosy hayloft, Killiehuntly offers you an exclusive and personal retreat.
- Food, Restaurants, Cafes:
Our Kitchen
Food at Killiehuntly is served at 2 long tables. It is all about homemade, local, simple and honest beautiful food served in a setting where people come together to spend precious time away from the daily routine.
We do things as they have always been done on Killiehuntly Farm. We follow seasonal variations and our existing traditions.
During the summer and autumn, we harvest what grows on our farm and from nearby farmers. We prepare your food using traditional methods.
We build up our storage ahead of the dark winter months. The hunting season starts after the harvest and is an important time when we take advantage of the exceptional bounty with which the land provides us.To share our farm table with people with a genuine interest in connecting, sharing a small part of their life and dine together makes us happy and inspires us on daily basis.
