The scene:
While flying over the Broughton Archipelago from Vancouver Island, you will appreciate the wilderness setting and the remoteness of Nimmo Bay. Nimmo Bay's floating lodge is located at the bottom of Mt. Stephens, with nothing but tree cover mountains and the pacific ocean in sight. Upon arrival, you'll be welcomed by the owner/operator Fraser Murray & his wife Becky, along with their daughter as the 'official greeter' of Nimmo. Their warm hospitality and connection to the environment is evident in the design and care of the resort, while the committed staff will not miss an opportunity to go above and beyond to make your Nimmo experience one you will never forget.
Design:
Nimmo Bay has been designed to work with the environment and create a resort that compliments the ocean and mountains that surrounds it. Nimmo Bay values quality, and that is evident in the design and furniture of the resort. Throughout the resort you'll find various art instalments created by various local artists. All buildings and amenities have been constructed of locally sourced wood and materials.

The founders of Nimmo Bay installed a palton water wheel 35 years ago, and has alwasy been a self-sustainable resort. At the foot of the waterfall you have the opportunity to jump in the glacier plunge pool or just take in the waterfall from one of our hot tubs situated at the base of the falls.

23 Off-the-Grid Destinations Perfect for a Data Detox
Let’s not lie to ourselves, technology is everywhere and it’s permeated parts our lives most of us would have assumed we’d keep private. We wake up in the morning, scroll through a few feeds before picking up our double shot espresso latte ordered on the Starbucks app, complain about the line on Twitter, while emailing work about being late. There’s never been a generation so attached to our devices, so dependent on technology to drive our lives. Decompressing now means disconnecting, getting off-the-grid and finding an inspiring pocket of the planet so remote as to remain unfettered by wifi signals and Insta stories so that we can socialize, gather and connect IRL. We’ve got some pretty darn perfect picks for said off-the-grid trips – remote, sweetly serene yet cutting-edge cool hotspots where we agree, go technology free. So plan your next Instagram-free fete away from your “social” life and instead of engaging online with your followers, engage and socialize with your closest friends offline, just like the old days.
