Playa Studios is an expansive 12,000 sq ft multi-use building, located where Culver City meets Playa Vista in the up-and-coming cultural epicenter of Los Angeles. Home to bi-coastal music production company Mophonics, the heart of our vision lies in building a community at the nexus of music, art and technology, by way of our 5,000 sq ft event room, state-of-the-art recording studios, and creative offices.

THE SPACE
Playa Studios is an expansive 12,000 sq ft multi-use building, located where Culver City meets Playa Vista in the up-and-coming cultural epicenter of Los Angeles. Home to bi-coastal music production company Mophonics, the heart of our vision lies in building a community at the nexus of music, art, and technology, by way of our 5,000 sq ft event room, state-of-the-art recording studios, and creative offices.

THE EVENT ROOM
The Event Room is a 5,000 sq ft space that can be accessed directly from the Lounge through our oversized sound isolated glass doors. With 18’ft exposed ceilings, skylights, stunning chandeliers and sculptural wood accents, the Event Room is a perfect balance between industrial and modern. Our ceiling mounted HD projector, included lounge furniture pieces, and custom bar + shelving unit makes it very easy to transform the flexible space to suit your needs. The Event Room also includes two multi-stall restrooms to easily accommodate a larger guest count.

THE LOUNGE
The entrance to Playa Studios is a handsome 3,000 sq ft lounge featuring a striking 18’ ft tall gallery wall. The Lounge opens directly into the Event Room through our oversized sound isolated sliding glass doors, allowing you the ability to create two completely different atmospheres within the adjacent spaces. The Lounge also includes a kitchenette perfect for bar service and two individual restrooms. 

THE GREEN ROOM
The private 350 sq ft Green Room is fully furnished with a conference table, chairs, and a sofa. The Green Room can be accessed from the Lounge and the Event Room through a private hallway. It can be used as a holding space for talent, back-of-house for production, a bridal or groom suite, an edit room, a vip lounge and more.…

MONDAY - FRIDAY PRICING
$6,500 for a 12 hour rental
- Select any consecutive 12 hour time frame between 8am-12am.
- Extended load-in/load-out hours are available for an additional fee, based on availability.
- Includes our in-house tables and chairs for up to 256 guests. 

*Private event pricing only; inquire for corporate event rates.
** Holiday/Seasonal rates may apply.

SATURDAY PRICING
$10,000 for a 12 hour rental
- Select any consecutive 12 hour time frame between 9am-12am.
- Extended load-in/load-out hours are available for an additional fee, based on availability.
- Includes our in-house tables and chairs for up to 256 guests. Please note, all Saturday events must use our tables and chairs.
- Includes our fully equipped catering kitchen.

SUNDAY PRICING 
$8,000 for a 12 hour rental
- Consecutive 12 hour time frame 1pm-1am; hard out for guests at 12am.
- Includes our in-house tables and chairs for up to 256 guests. 
- Includes our fully equipped catering kitchen.

SITE MANAGEMENT
Two Site Managers are required during your event hours for an additional $750; additional staff may be required for events over 300 guests. Please note, overtime rates of time and a half will apply if staff are required to work over the contracted time of your event.

PARKING
Bookings include 19 parking spaces in our adjacent lot for your event staff and vendors only. Guest valet service is required for all events and booked through Playa Studios’ preferred vendor. 

FURNITURE MOVING
For all events, there is a $200* furniture moving fee, which covers a one time, pre-event setup to arrange the venue’s furniture according to your floor plan.  *Furniture moving fee subject to change depending on floor plan complexity; not to exceed $500.

JANITORIAL
For all events, there is a $550 janitorial fee, which includes janitorial staff during your event hours to maintain the cleanliness of the space and a post event cleaning.

SECURITY
Security may be required for large events and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Security guards are billed at $30/hour and booked through Playa Studios.PERMITSPermitting rush fees apply for events booked within 30 days to the event date, not to exceed $250.

BOOKING POLICY
Dates and availability are on a first come, first serve basis; we do not have event holds. A non-refundable 50% deposit is required in order to secure the date.

Our venue has several unique design features.

Fun Facts!
- The wood used on our kitchen wall and ceiling is constructed from salvaged bleachers from the Chicago school system.
- The vintage Wm. Knabe & Co Piano displayed in our Lounge wall was once a dilapidated Craigslist find that has survived within the Mophonics family for over a decade.
- The mural art in our Lounge is from local Los Angeles artist Made of Hagop.
