Venue Setting

Motor Row, located at 2400 S. Michigan Ave, is a city landmark and iconic Chicago landmark. Built in the 1930’s by acclaimed architect Philip Maher, the Spanish revival designed building was first home to the Chicago Illinois Automobile Club, and in the 1950's became the headquarters for the Chicago Defender newspaper where it hosted notable Americans like John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King and Mohammad Ali. This rich history has carved the path for one of Chicago's most awaited event venues. Situated across from Chicago’s premier convention center, McCormick Place, our new venue will help fuel the resurgence of the neighborhood into a thriving entertainment district. Motor Row’s versatile event space will accommodate up to 2,600 for cocktail parties and 400 for seated dinners. In addition, it includes a 7,000 sq. ft. courtyard and 10 spaces for breakout rooms and private dining. In addition to this space will be a 5,000 square foot space that once held the first Cadillac dealership. Known as The Garage at Revel Motor Row, this space includes industrial details and opens to the expansive private courtyard.

The scene:

Designed and built by acclaimed architect Philip Maher in 1936 and previously home to the Illinois Automobile Club and the Chicago Defender building, Revel Motor Row provides an impressive backdrop for any vision. The adjacent building and original home to the city's first Cadillac dealership, playfully dubbed "The Garage" adds flexible space to the campus. Four years of meticulous construction allowed the Revel Group to restore this building to all of its former glory with events in mind. 50,000 sq.ft in total event space, three floors and a 5,000 sq.ft. courtyard can help you bring your dream event to life.

Design:
Spanish revival design meets art deco styling. Completely renovated and restored to showcase it's 1930's charm.
Standout venue features:
All of the stained glass and plaster work was painstakingly restored after the building stood vacant for numerous years.

The main space, Packard, now filled in with concrete, once housed an Olympic style swimming pool when the building belonged to the Illinois Automobile Club.
