The menu, composed of contemporary tavern fare inspired by London roast houses, features sharable portions of whole roasted chicken, whole roasted fish, and slow-roasted beef; all carved tableside and served with signature potatoes. Two bars present views of the water as well as a large selection of local draft beer, craft cocktails, classy shots, and wine by the glass. With one of the largest patios in the city, River Roast offers a communal gathering place to connect with friends and family, bringing back the nostalgic idea of traditional Sunday suppers and engaging diners with live blues every Saturday and Sunday. Design: With city and water views from every seat, guests can catch a glimpse of Chicago whether they are seated inside or outside on River Roast’s large riverside porch. Wood paneling and exposed brick give the restaurant a rustic feel, while soft leather chairs, contemporary chandeliers, and bar-top lamps add a refined and intimate feel to River Roast’s expansive layout. In addition to the main dining room and bar, five private and semi-private event spaces each feature sophisticated décor that pays tribute to the historical landmark building in which the restaurant is housed.
