The scene:
The mansion was reconstructed and renovated with the appropriate care during 2015. These original manor houses were built more than 150 years ago by a Turkish business man who was in love with the island. He was one of the most important philhellenes and moreover he was over fascinated by the Cycladic architecture and philosophy of the Greek islands. During the first construction he found many antiques, genuine Santorinian artifacts, and unique items of the island’s history.

Greek hospitality reaches new heights at Santorini’s latest landmark. Seamlessly reflecting the island’s tranquility, Sophia Luxury Suites have harmoniously blended the expansive complex with the natural landscape. Amalgamating elements of old Cycladic architecture with modern Greek lines helped create a property that is as authentic as it is contemporary. For instance, the Cave-In Suites and whitewashed exteriors of neighboring cube cave houses are omnipresent in all of the hotel’s structures while the addition of verandas and balconies let the outside in. “Perfection is hidden in the smallest detail!”
Design:

The beautifully designed guest rooms and suites are all individual, creating unique spaces that allow guests to discover the latest in contemporary Cycladean style. Minimal and earthy Mediterranean hues, romantic lanterns, outdoor heated Jacuzzis and indoor cave pools, balconies and sumptuous bedrooms—Sophia surrounds its guests by luxury and comfort in an iconic landscape.

This section provides insights into our diverse culinary and social offerings.
Mouth-watering tastes for breakfast of the “real” Greece was created by our chef based on homemade recipes that use traditional ingredients of Santorini and Greece. A wide collection of coffee, refreshing fruit juice, delicious finger food and homemade dessert is offered all day long.

Our chef Mr. Nikos Pylarinos takes care of all the procedures and preparations from scratch. He has strategically established key co-operations with only the best local producers like: Mr. Manolis our fisherman, Mr. Nikos our green grocer/fruiterer, and Mr. Argiris our butcher.

Nikos Pylarinos just arrived from Paris and is one of the most passionate young chefs in Greece. He studied at the Advanced Technical University of Crete and continued his studies at “Le Cordon Blue” culinary master school of Paris which he also worked at for several years. His journey in the world of flavors started at “Park Hyatt Place Vendome” and afterwards at “Six New York Restaurant”. The place that he calls “My School and My Home” is the restaurant “Maison Prunier” where he stayed for 3 years as a sous-chef next to the famous chef Eric Coisel.

He has a customized menu that combines his passion of sharing food amongst good friends and family with the colors and flavors of Greece. Our chef recognizes that tourists are looking for unique and memorable food experiences which are not just limited to gourmet restaurants. Sophia is a foodie destination in the making.
