Venue Setting

Talton Lodge & Talton House are set amongst 35 acres of parkland, woodland, orchard and gardens in south Warwickshire, 10 minutes from the Cotswolds and Stratford-Upon-Avon. This is a little haven and an inspiring place to hold your gathering or event whether it be a business event, party, hen night, wedding, holiday, meeting, team build, conference, school trip or even one of our sausage making or cookery courses.

Talton Lodge is next to the kitchen garden, which once fed those living in the House, but now is brimming with quirky places to stay. With the adjacent 18C Barn it can sleep up to 28. Across the lane is the beautiful Queen Anne Talton House, which with its 9/10 bedrooms, can sleep up to 24. If your group is really large, you may consider hiring both Talton Lodge and House. Two very different venues side by side - one night you could sit around the big fire in the giant tipi listening to music, sipping a pint from the pavilion bar, on the next you can dress up for a feast in the Hall at "the big house." One of the proprietors is a chef so local and home grown ingredients and slow cooked food weather in the wood fired spit roast or the pizza oven is a feature. There is a fantastic wine cellar carefully tended since the 1960s and we recommend a wine tastings.

We want to be a venue which has a low impact on the environment. To that end we grow your food here or source from local producers. Hot water and heating is as far as possible provided by renewable sources.

Venue Features
The Scene:
Talton House is a lovely Queen Anne house with history and charm. It is set amongst lawns and gardens with a large ornamental pond, tennis court, games room, and dressing up cupboard. For all its atmospheric high ceilings it should also feel relaxing and fun. It sleeps up to 24 and hosts up to 55. Think of it as your luxury country home or private club for hosting any kind of gathering. You can entertain in the large hall, drawing room, garden room, dining room and snug sitting room with its projector and screen. It has a large kitchen with range cooker and a larder in the old dairy. There's an indoor games room (snooker and table tennis).

All reception rooms have open fires or wood-burners. Self-cater or sit back and let us see to your every need. The bedrooms are named after members of our family, from Dr Watson who was Queen Victoria's doctor, to Christabel Carlisle who is Olivia's mum and lives in the wing. You can find out their stories from the rooms.

TALTON LODGE
Talton Lodge sleeps up to 30 and hosts up to 120. It includes the 18th Century barn but is mostly set in a Victorian kitchen garden with a tree-boathouse, orchard wagon, 2 yurts, 1 North American tipi, cedar pavilion kitchen & 3 bathrooms plus linked giant tipi marquees heated by wood-burner. Bigger groups can expand into a T5 VW Camper van bringing the total beds from 28 to 30.

All our accommodation is rain proof, with wood-burning stoves, proper beds, linen, towels, rugs, blankets and cushions. You can always request kids' cots. You can also gather in and use the very big Scandinavian tipis; furnished with sofas, tables, benches, a stereo, all around a big indoor chimenea fire.

THE BARN
The converted 18th century barn has high ceilings and exposed beams. We retained much of what was already there (mangers for sinks, stable partitions for walls, bricks for the bar), and the rest is in keeping with what was there (reclaimed slate dairy shelves for the surfaces, and lime wash for the walls). But now it is cosy and well-equipped with its wood-burning stove, comfortable seating and beds, Tom Hammick tapestries, Wi-Fi, and an HD projector. Downstairs is an open-plan space with well a equipped kitchen (large electric oven, fridge), bar, table large enough for 18, and sofa. Although upstairs is also open plan, beds nestle in 5 niches made by the beams. There is one double and 4 singles, but 2 more singles fit in easily. There are also 2 toilets and a large free-standing bath/shower from where you can see the swallows darting about in the unconverted part of the barn.
Standout Venue Features:

We have 2 giant tipis that we set up in the magical seclusion of the original Victorian Kitchen Garden. They can seat up to 120 people and create a flexible space that you can transform into whatever you like. The sides go up and down, we have matting for the floor, and we provide fairy lights, lanterns, and candles for indoor and outdoor lighting. We encourage you to get involved with the decoration, so you feel that for the night it is yours.

We are very proud of our food, so we need to do most of the catering. Our home reared, proper wood-fired spit roasted pigs and lambs are popular. For a reasonable fee we can provide good bar-staff, two bars, equipment like coolers, dispensers, beer engines, glasses, ice and lemon/lime so that you can BYO. You can chose wine from our cellar or from another supplier. We will also source for you barrelled beer, cider, lager and soft drinks at trade prices. Alternatively we can run our professionally staffed, reasonable priced bar, which can also serve cocktails.

You can also get the run of Talton House itself. It’s a Queen Anne house and exudes a lovely atmosphere.

Spill from the house on to the split level lawns via French windows. During the colder months you can even attach a marquee to the house to expand its capacity or to enhance the link to the garden The high ceilinged large hall, dining room, drawing room and lawn reception room are ideal entertaining spaces. Talton House can host parties of 60 - 100 all year around.

The combination of House and Lodge appeal to both the adventurous festival and canvas lovers as well as those seduced by a romantic old house and gardens.

We have had some magical blessings on the Talton House lawn or you can do the whole formal marriage elsewhere, which is fine too. For the legal bit there are many local churches as well as nearby register offices in Stratford-Upon-Avon, Moreton-in-Marsh, Leamington and other specialist venues.
