Located in the heart of San Francisco's Mission District, the Armory is the largest building in the Mission District. Completed in 1914, the building was used as a National Guard facility until 1976. It served as both a barricade and safety point for officers during rioting in San Francisco in 1934. Though it has sat vacant for most of the past 40 years, it was used by George Lucas to film the first Star Wars movie. The Armory was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 and has been out of official use since this time.
The Drill Court venue of the Armory building boasts over 40,000 square feet of highly adaptable space with a capacity of 4,000. The diversity of the of the historic San Francisco Armory makes it a perfect venue for a vaiety of public and private vents: corporate, concerts, sporting, educational, entertainment and community uses and events.

This 200,000 square foot reproduction Moorish Castle retains original period details including wainscoting, stone staircases, sweeping corridors, cavernous access to Mission Creek, and a gigantic drill court spanning almost an acre.

The Drill Court is reputed to be the largest unsupported enclosed volume in San Francisco, featuring a dramatic exposed roof structure composed of curved steel open-web trusses and leaving a clear line-of-site from any position in the room.

A 40,000 sq ft multipurpose event space, with 33,500 sq ft of beautiful hardwood maple floating floor, 80' elevation at the highest point in the dome ceiling, acoustical treatment on walls and ceiling, catering prep and set-up facilities, and many more amenities.
