“Lavish” doesn’t even begin to capture the vibe at this hedonist’s paradise of a villa in sultry Puglia. The first thing to grab our attention was the dedicated party area – a huge expanse, covered yet open to the outdoors with a full chef’s kitchen, curved bar and a charcuterie slicer and pizza oven any professional chef would be jealous of. Make full use of this space by hiring a private chef – your host is more than happy to arrange this for you. If you’re not feasting in the party area, you’ll find myriad dining tables and outdoor lounges shaded by pergolas and lining the poolside. There are also sun loungers and day beds galore to spend days soaking up the rays. The villa itself casts a striking silhouette, all sleek angles and modernism and glowing white in the Puglian sun. Inside, there’s a huge, open-plan living area decked out like a mid-century entertainer’s pad, where the whole group can gather. But bedrooms also come with their own living rooms for a bit of privacy, and two have kitchenettes in case you want a morning coffee in the seclusion of your room. Getting out to explore, you’ll find you’re in a beachy locale, ten minutes by car to the dramatic ruins and coast at San Vito and a fifteen-minute drive to the glitzy seaside resort of Polignano a Mare.
