This canal-bound former mayor’s manse is Amsterdam’s funky all-in-one destination to “sleep/work/eat/play.”
The hip brother to Hoxton’s two London locations, the historic brick building houses both a bustling restaurant and cool, unpretentious conference spaces for demure daytime meetings, with a shared kitchen that pops into cocktail crafting mode once the final email of the day is sent.

Venue Setting

We’ve opened our doors on Herengracht canal. The first hotel outside of London in The Hoxton series;

The Hoxton, Amsterdam is made up of 5 canal houses, once home to the Mayor of Amsterdam way back in the 17th century, they now feature 111 rooms spread over 5 floors. There are 3 different room categories starting with the smallest or what we like to call the Shoebox and going up to a Roomy - the biggest of the lot. Many have canal views and all come with the usual Hoxton perks which include free Wi-Fi, breakfast bag filled with a banana, granola and OJ, one hour of free global phone calls and a fridge stocked with water and fresh milk.

The rooms were designed by local Interior Design duo Nicemakers and take inspiration from the building’s history and local neighbourhood. There’s a whole host of quirks too, two rooms feature the original monumental ceilings, the attic rooms have ceiling beams plus you might even find a bathtub and double shower behind one door. All rooms are en-suite with rainfall showers and Pen & Ink amenities, created bespoke by the people behind The Hoxton in collaboration with alchemist Liza Witte and illustrator Hedof.

The restaurant - Lotti’s, is run in partnership with Soho House & Co and serves Italian inspired dishes from breakfast through to dinner whilst the lobby space features a spiral staircase leading to ‘Up Top’, a mezzanine bar open for coffee and cocktails.

The Apartment, a meeting and event space like no other, is made up of 5 different rooms and a central pantry kitchen which during the day is available to raid for those bashing heads in the meeting rooms and by night flips to a bar for events or private dining.

Awards & Notables

ENTREE MAGAZINE HOSPITALITY AWARDS
The Hoxton, Amsterdam finished 2015 on a high note by winning the Entree Magazine award for Best Hotel Design, just 4 months after opening. A panel of judges visited the hotel in October, where they examined rooms of all categories, as well as the public areas, and The Apartment meetings and events space. What were they looking for? The design needed to be ‘original, functional and outshine all the others in terms of aesthetic.’

According to the jury, what really caught their eye was the mixture of hotel guests and locals in the lobby and restaurant. They had nice words to say, too, with the judges commenting that, “the public spaces live and breathe, and are thoroughly maintained without bothering the guests. The rooms are warm, atmospheric and fit well with the location of the hotel. The styling, as well as the development of the hotel, have a very clear, personal signature that makes the hotel already feel like a timeless classic.”

The Hoxton, Amsterdam

Herengracht 255, Amsterdam, Netherlands

Come for the party, stay for the, well…everything else this amazing Amsterdam hotel has to offer. The Hoxton, Amsterdam once served as the living quarters to the mayor way back in the 17th century and as of 2015 has been re-established as a hip and happenin’ hotel! Featuring 111 casual, yet retro-styled rooms complete with canal views, and a tasty restaurant, coffee and cocktail den, lobby bar, and chic meeting space, it is no surprise to us that the Hoxton community wanted to open their doors to the public with an over-the-top launch party!

22Tracks: Bedroom Sessions was just one of the events thrown during the launch of The Hoxton, and upon hearing about this extraordinary celebration, we jumped on it immediately! We met up with The Hoxton, Amsterdam’s event team, as well as photographer, De Fotomeisjes, and got the scoop on everything that took place. Everything from the food and drinks, to the dancing was 100%, and it is the team of event planners, photographers, and more that we have to thank for that. The venue was impressive, the planning was strategic, the tastes were creative (and delish), the vibe was eclectic, the company was engaged, and…we could go on all day about how fab this party was, but we’ll let you check it out for yourself!
