- The property was once owned and farmed by the Howell family for many years. After purchasing the last 5 acres of the farm, the owner of The Oaks, April Maness, remained friends with the matriarch of the Howell family. She told April that the area was once named "Salem Community".... hence the name, The Oaks at Salem. It was April's dream to buy back some of the original land and return it to a working farm. Today, The Oaks is just over 11 acres. We have blueberries, vegetables, flowers, and bees.
- Design:
- Included in our package is a spacious, 3,000 sq. ft. white tent. It is a direct extension from the facility, situated over our paver stone terrace which doubles as a dance floor. With our tent we include:
-Elegant white fabric tent draping
-Custom, dimmable market lighting (draped in a crisscross pattern)
-Clear tent sides that can be utilized in case of rain or cold weather
-Heater packages are available in winter months at an additional cost
-White fans mounted on every other tent pole for guest comfort during warm weather
-Custom, built-in speaker system for DJ & Band use
-Stationary wine barrels - Standout Venue Features:
- A new addition to our property is The Oaks at Salem Vendor Marketplace, located in the rustic barn overlooking the pond. It is a year-round bridal show. Couples get to see, in real time, the top wedding vendors in the triangle area in a low pressure setting. You will see caterers, photographers, videographers, florists, DJs, musicians, bakeries, make-up artists, hair stylists, transportation services, hotels, wedding planners, travel services, and much more. Couples are welcome to come back as much as needed to pick up information or meet with their vendors in a casual, secluded setting. Even if you do not book with The Oaks, we encourage you to stop by and see this one of a kind wedding planning experience! These vendors can go anywhere you decide to have your wedding.
Included in our package when you book with The Oaks is a wedding coordinator. We provide a planning packet that contains all the necessary information for planning your big day, but our coordinators are always available via email for any questions along the way. They schedule an on-site planning meeting with you and your vendors 6-8 weeks prior to the event and create a custom timeline and layout that is emailed to all of your vendors. Additionally the coordinator will conduct your rehearsal practice and remain on site throughout your entire event to take care of you and your guests so you can enjoy your day. - Extra Perks:
