Inspired by the eclectic lounges of New York's meatpacking district and the warm brasseries of turn of the century Paris, Vin de Syrah is complemented by amazing cheeses, desserts, and an approachable wine list. This subterranean yet organic space pays respect to the old but embraces the new world with a comtemporary style all it's own. A much needed "breath of fresh air" for the Gaslamp Quarter, Vin de Syrah offers spirits, unique beer and of course, an array of beautiful wines. Celebrated local designer Michael Soriano completely reinvents the downtown urban lounge with his botanical chandeliers, thick 50 year old wine vines, 12 foot natural wood tasting table, and semi-private plush sitting rooms. So whether you like the unique beats of San Diego's most eclectic djs or the soothing rhythms of live jazz, you'll find yourself lost in the moment, enjoying the ambiance, music, food and drink that is simply, Vin de Syrah.

If you are hosting a party and would like added entertainment we offer live music, a DJ, a burlesque or lounge style show, a tarot card reader, or an illusionist. If you are hosting a corporate event and require audio visual support, projector access, logo placement and printed material Vin de Syrah can provide you with even the most obscure add-ons. Our highly educated staff are also capable of providing your event with it's own themed specialty cocktail menu full of original crafted cocktails. The beautiful space is sure to wow your guests and our extensive selection of menu options and event packages will fit any budget.
Design:: Right in the center of the otherworldly décor of Vin de Syrah, the Prohibition Garden is separated from the rest of the venue by our beautiful 12 foot tasting table and some expertly placed stanchions. It is the perfect space for any cocktail reception or networking event. With ample space to include extra tables or chairs, the Prohibition Garden can accommodate up to 100 guests with direct access to the bar. This area is perfect for events with stationed items and tray passed apps.

Cozy up next to our fireplace in one of our oversized wingback lounge chairs in "the Rabbit's Den". This area is perfect for a small event meant for relaxing with some wine in a comfortable and laid back atmosphere. Whether just having some drinks and apps or planning a hosted tasting with our in-house sommelier, this area is perfect for a small and intimate gathering.

The 12 foot acacia wood tasting table has been the anchor in Vin de Syrah's décor since it was designed. Syrah offers a plethora of hosted tastings, each customizable for a private group. Wine, cocktails, spirits or beer, our in-house sommelier can taste you through all of your favorite beverages and offer perfect canapé pairings with each. No matter what your guests are into, we can accommodate with 3, 4 or 5 tastings in absolutely any category. Want a full 3-5 course dinner paired with your wine tasting? Not a probelm; with Syrah the tasting options are limitless.

The large Barrels Nook is conveniently located close to the bar making it exceptionally situated for receptions and networking. Plenty of table space allows for easy access to appetizer platters or event displays. The best feature for the Barrels Nook is our closed circuit TV, allowing your guests to watch as people struggle over finding the correct door to enter the venue.

Perfect for most bottle service reservations on Friday and Saturday night, our oversized booths and hand made wood tables make for the best birthday, bachelorette or girl's-night-out reservation. But this isn't the only use for these surprisingly private tables; we also do private romantic wine tastings. Set up before your arrival with rose petals and candles, this is the perfect way to show your love to your special someone. These wine tastings are hosted by our in-house sommelier and include 3 wines and 3 food canapés.
Standout venue features:: Every Friday and Saturday night starting at 8pm, anyone can reserve a spot at our weekly wine tasting. Our in-house sommelier will talk you through tasting 3 different wines and pair them with 3 hand crafted canapés. This hour long tasting is a riotous good time and whether you are a wine rookie or an experienced palate, you will find yourself laughing along with the rest of the table! No two tastings are ever the same experience, so come often.

The beautiful and talented ladies of Rouge perform every Friday night at 9:30pm and are also available to perform at any private event. Their live performances of burlesque inspired songs include, Lady Marmalade, Fever and Tough Lover.

For over 2 decades, Nick Ivory has dominated the world of magic, performing all over the country at high-powered corporate functions, weekly evening shows, and exclusive parties. His visionary approach to the art escapes the confines of tradition and has given birth to a new breed of modern mysticism.

Dr. Marykay Fisher PsyD. offers customizable tarot experience for your event. Her 20+ years as a psychologist specializing in women's trauma and abuse had perfectly adapted her for reading the cards. Discuss anything from general life questions to specific concerns in love, money or career and walk away uplifted... usually.

Vin de Syrah offers live music of absolutely any genre and DJ bookings for all private events. If you are looking for just that little something special, try out one of our music combinations. Our DJs can play alongside live musicians who perform on electric violin, guitar, trumpet or sax. There are some of the most interesting and impactful live music experiences we have ever produced.

Vin de Syrah offers catering to accommodate every event. Our in-house catering menu includes small bites such as the wildly popular gorgonzola stuffed & bacon wrapped dates, avocado relish, orange-ginger chicken skewers and 3 different types of bruschetta. If your event requires entrees and heavy apps, let us introduce you to Chef Samuel Geffroy of Blue Point Coastal Cuisine. Chef Geffroy reinvigorates Blue Point's offerings with his classic French technique and brings a wealth of experience from fine dining restaurants in Europe including Switzerland's two Michelin starred restaurant La Côte as well as at the 4-star Le Mont Paisible hotel. Working directly with Chef Geffroy, Vin de Syrah has created an incredible catering menu with delectable items.

We take great pride in our beverage program at Vin de Syrah; rotating our specialty cocktail menu to greet each season. Our vigorous staff education allows Syrah to accommodate your event needs with the most customizable cocktail menu in the Gaslamp District. Whatever your specialty cocktail requirements are-color, flavor, product or name- Syrah will deliver. With over 100 different bottles of wine from all over the world, Syrah can build a customized wine list, proving thousands of options for event themes and accommodating any event budget.
