Venue Features
The Scene:
The woodland setting, native gardens and historic buildings at Wavering Place set the tone for this stunning venue. The main house was built in 1850 and is surrounded by several outbuildings dating back to 1800. The fully restored Kitchen House is the perfect bridal suite. Our expansive grounds are loaded with native plants and trees providing multiple scenarios for each event and our pavilion has a new/old vibe that complements the existing structures. 
Design:
The restored Kitchen House(bridal suite) recieved an award from Historic Columbia for Adaptive Use. We maintained the original exterior while giving the interior a crisp modern style that uses many original materials. The european bath/shower combo has been a big hit!
Standout Venue Features:
"Green Tree House" is our open air pavilion complete with 2000 sf of common space, a seperate "back porch", a built in service bar, 2 fireplaces, 2 restrooms and a prep kitchen. Completed in 2017, the feature wall is finished in reclaimed wood and center fireplace with a white stucco chimney. During inclement weather, canvas sides may be added for better enclosure.

Awards & Notables Wavering Place has been featured on Martha Stewart Weddings  and again on MSW as well as countless social media sites and photo blogs(here is a favorite) Printed features include Garden and Gun, Geraldine Magazine, Cottage Hill, Southern Weddings Magazine, to name a few.
The Kitchen House recieved a Preservation Award from Historic Columbia for Adaptive Use and the "Green Tree House" pavilion recieved a preservation award for New Construction in an Historic Context.
