Venue Setting

The William Allen Farm is located in picturesque Pownal, Maine just ten minutes from downtown Freeport, Maine where your guests will find several options for overnight accommodations, shopping, dining and other conveniences.

The 80 x 40 traditional post and beam barn offers seating for up to 200 guests. Should you need additional space the acres of manicured lawn offers several options for tents overlooking the pond and perennial garden. You may also want to enjoy lawn games and cocktails by the pond. The grounds offer ample off road parking for your guests as well. We also offer a bridal suite where you and your bridal party can prepare for the big day or just take a minute to rest and relax. We offer indoor restroom facilities for your guests. No need to rent portable restroom facilities.

Our season runs from May through October. We look forward to hosting your special occasion here at the farm.

Venue Features
The scene:
The farm offers an ideal spot for your elegant barn wedding or other special event. Our 63 acres of woods and fields are bordered by gorgeous old stone walls, and the grounds include a lovely pond, gardens and open lawn perfect for photos or an intimate wedding ceremony. This rural setting is just ten minutes from downtown Freeport, where you and your guests will find hotels, shopping and other conveniences.

Our 200 year old barn is an authentic New England structure, complete with hand hewn beams, wood plank floors and hay loft. The 80 x 40 traditional post and beam barn is spacious yet cozy and can accommodate up to 200 guests. Hanging brass chandeliers lend an elegant sophistication, and the barn can be easily dressed up, or dressed down for a more country feel.

Design:
The barn offers a lovely built in bar area under the gentlmen's lounge hayloft. The bar has access to both the outside for cocktail hour and the inside for easy dinner service.
