Just the other week we spoke with photographer Lauren Fair about a stunning wedding she captured at the beautiful Linwood Estate, situated in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Before we dive into the venue itself we must ask… Lauren, we were just wondering, is it cool if you photoshop some of our staff into your photos from Linwood Estate so we can play make believe that we were there too?
The acreage alone left our jaws dropped at a whopping 121 acres nestled in the Great Appalachian Valley Woodlands. This out-of-this-world property features a variety of diverse indoor and outdoor settings to satisfy the few, the many, and those with the wildest of imaginations. From Grecian-sculptures, crystal chandeliers, gilded interiors and greenery galore, Linwood Estate does everything just right.

But wait, don’t let the surroundings and breadth of land hold you back from having a smaller-sized get together. This scenery lover’s haven is known for having many phenomenal thirty people or less functions such as baby showers, intimate dinners and birthday parties. So, whether you are in search of keeping it low-key or going all out, you’ve come to the right place.
Linwood Estate is founded upon its rich history and liveliness dating back to the late 1800s, however while the owners have maintained its aged allure, they’ve given a number of the buildings a generous interior—exterior revamp, creating the perfect, shall we say, je ne sais quoi or if we must, vintage-contemporary feels; and we love it.
We had the chance to ask photographer, Lauren Fair her thoughts on this stunning estate and the wedding she photographed here: "Ashton + Patrick’s Memorial Day weekend wedding was absolutely stunning. These two have such a genuine connection and such a JOY radiated from them on their wedding day!! Even though there was a threat of rain, the skies held off for us just long enough for their portraits and outdoor ceremony + cocktail hour!! Linwood Estate was such a beautiful venue and how AMAZING is Ashton’s backless wedding dress?! So much fun working with our talented friends Janelle on Location for beautiful hair + makeup and Willow Tree Films! Lauren goes on to say "Linwood is an estate venue located in Carlise, PA with a historic mansion for getting ready / cocktails and a new ballroom space made to look like a white barn from the outside."
"We like the downstairs area of the mansion for beautiful getting ready photos, and the gardens and side field for photos!"
It's set in rolling fields with lots of lush trees, gardens and wide open fields which is perfect for portraits! The team at Linwood was also really nice to work with."
In our eyes, the entirety of the land could be considered one larger-than-life garden with artistically trimmed hedges, finely cared-for flower beds, dense rolling hills and an unfathomable assortment of plant species. That’s not all, there is a labyrinth! This elaborate structure is a must-see and we will be the first to point out, one killer place to take one… or many selfies.
There are endless places and venues considered to be pretty and well designed, however lack the essential intuitive feeling of, this-is-the-one. While exploring and taking in all that is Linwood Estate, this exact and often uncommon notion is without a shadow of a doubt, present.
Those who have had the pleasure of spending time in this space have experienced this excitement, and additionally, added to the life, love and energy that is Linwood Estate.
