Bellemore’s opening last year in Chicago was highly anticipated. Why? Boka Restaurant Group joined forces with award-winning chef Jimmy Papadopoulos to create art out of American cuisine. Bellemore is based just as much in artful food as it is transformative decor creating an experience that starts when you walk into the doors of this brass and sleek restaurant. We think bringing in your supper squad to take over the velvet banquets and moody lounge of this design-centric spot sounds delightfully delicious.
Enter into the world of Bellemore, where no detail goes unnoticed.
The Spirit of Bellemore
Bellemore is known for being “Artistic American,” a style that can be seen throughout the cuisine and decor. The interior is designed by Karen Herold of Studio K. Think sleek brass accents, blush sofas, a marble bar and wood and wicker seating. Artist Tracee Badway painted a mural of owls for the private dining area, where darker tones take over. An overarching Art Deco design theme places you into the world of Bellemore, a captivating and entrancing 6,000-square-foot interior.
The Chef
Bellemore’s chef, Jimmy Papadopoulos has been at the forefront of the culinary scene since he was 24 years old when he became Chef de Cuisine at Sam & Harry’s. Not to mention the fact that he earned Bohemian House a Michelin Bib Gourmand award in 2014. In 2015 he was named one of Zagat’s 30 under 30 and was simultaneously named Eater Chicago’s Chef of the Year.
When he met with the owners of Boka Restaurant Group in the summer of 2016, the concept of Bellemore was born. Chef Papadopoulos describes his cooking as “bold, bright and beautiful” and he brings his soulful techniques to the tables of Bellemore.
The Menu
Bellemore’s menu is a well-crafted and artistic selection of culinary treats. From their Veal Sweetbreads to their Venison Tartare, or even their Mushroom Ravioli will do the trick. Try their Oyster Pie, a savory oyster custard, for the full culinary experience. Their desserts are also artfully crafted: Chestnut Brioche, Chocolate Pave and Pleasant Ridge Reserve, to name a few. No meal is complete without a stiff cocktail. With clever names like Cure What Ails You and To The Point, Bellemore doesn't skip a beat on details.
