What happens when you combine wine, brunch, shopping and phenomenal design? Besides overspending, you have the makings for one chic dining experience. Everyone's favorite splurge-worthy design brand, Restoration Hardware, recently opened its newest set of doors in Napa Valley's Yountville.

Restoration Hardware put their name on the dining map when they opened 3 Arts Club Cafe at their Chicago retail location. If you're unfamiliar, we'll catch you up: atrium ceilings, oversized chandeliers, olive trees and, of course, all of the famous RH furniture. When they announced plans to open their first standalone restaurant in Napa last year, plans included a:

  • Wine vault
  • Gallery
  • Expansive grounds

On a recent trip up from San Diego to Marin, our photo editor, Adam, decided to stop in to experience the new space firsthand and report back with his findings. He went for weekend brunch, although they are open for brunch and dinner every day.

We got the inside scoop from Adam on first impressions (hello, Italian villa), his favorite menu selections, and how one can, all too easily, spend an entire day at Restoration Hardware Yountville. Hint: Love the table and chairs you're dining at? You can purchase them.

First impressions of RH Yountville?

I’m a huge fan of all things Restoration Hardware, so when I found out that they opened a new store, restaurant, cafe, and wine-tasting room combo in Napa Valley I immediately added it to my list.

I mean, who doesn’t love wine, coffee, brunch, and beautiful design? As you pull up to RH Yountville, you are greeted by what looks like a villa in Tuscany, and you instantly forget that you are even in Yountville!

Give us a rundown of the menu. Any standouts?

Ever since I saw a photo of 3 Arts Club Café in Chicago, it’s been a dream of mine to dine at Restoration Hardware. Of course, brunch was at the top of my list. For our meal, we decided to share the RH Scramble (with a side of bacon, of course), Avocado Toast, and the Smoked Salmon board; each of these was absolutely phenomenal.

Chef Brendan Sodikoff’s seasonal, ingredient-driven menu sourced from neighboring farms is definitely one for the books. You can view the full menu here.

Time to dive into design - Give us the inside scoop.

For starters, Restoration Hardware is a furniture and design company, so they have already set the bar on this one! Walking into the restaurant, your eyes immediately take you to the massive chandeliers over the indoor fountains. I am not too sure if you can buy the actual furniture you are sitting on; however, you are able to buy the chair from their store, which you can see here.

If you walk through the restaurant, you are taken into the RH showroom and design gallery, where you can find their newest and best pieces to furnish your home. Just across the way is the RH Wine Vault and outdoor tasting area, complete with a stunning coffee bar and 40-foot live edge table.

What is there to do in the area/what did your day's itinerary look like?

After enjoying brunch at this design-centric restaurant, we decided to explore everything that Napa Valley has to offer! We decided to check out the fairly new Ashes & Diamonds Winery, a mid-century modern dream located just a few minutes south of RH Yountville. We then headed over to the renowned Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, where we enjoyed a phenomenal selection of Cabernets.

As for dining options in the area, you are offered everything from roadside diners, like Gott’s, to 3-Michelin Star dining establishments like The French Laundry (truly a bucket list-worthy dinner). If you head on into the city of Napa, there are a bunch of boutique shops to finish off your perfect wine country getaway.

Final thoughts on this new restaurant?

I think the best part about RH Yountville is that it really is a one-stop shop! You can have brunch or dinner, a private wine-tasting experience, and redecorate your home (if you have the budget of course).
