Finding a boutique hotel with 9 well-designed rooms that can be fully rented out for you and your crew, along with an intimate event space is not an easy task. Gives us the warm and fuzzies just thinking about it.

It's one thing to invite your favorite people to a garden party dinner for a celebratory occassion, but some of your guests have a long drive home and you would rather tuck them safely away for the night. Or, you may want to extend your event into a whole weekend gathering. Think: Retreat, workshop, group getaway, family reunion, holiday party or even a sweet micro-wedding perhaps? Enter The Venice Beach House, offering an enchanting seaside setting ideal for such occassions. Some online reviewers have even dubbed it "a Chateau Marmont by the sea."

The Los Angeles, California historic craftsman home will wisk you away with it's bygone era vibes, and allows the flexibility to gather in the tranquility of the lush gardens on property or inside it's chic, eclectic interiors, sweetly tucked away from the famous Venice boardwalk. Making it an ideal retreat for a gathering, yet close enough to take a stroll on the beach or to a local neighborhood restaurant

Upon check-in we settled in to our room, where there was a bottle of champagne, chocolates, and a decanter of water waiting for us. We opened the champagne and enjoyed it on our private deck.

The home itself is a shared experience that includes 9 rooms and suites. This includes a common living room area, as well as a beautiful breakfast nook where the sun shines in through the windows. Breakfast is delicious and is included with your stay. There is a mix of fresh baked goods, including a variety of croissants, fresh bread, eggs, yogurt, fruit, and gluten-free banana bread (it’s so good that it doesn’t taste GF), as well as fresh coffee and orange juice. They also accommodate allergies upon request.

It truly is like sharing a big house with your friends and family, but be mindful that the walls are quite thin due to how old the building is. There is a mix of rooms with both private and shared bathrooms.

The Venice Beach House was built in 1911 and is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The outdoor space has been beautifully landscaped and thoughtfully put together. There are lounge chairs for sunbathing, as well as covered sitting areas if you prefer the shade. The hanging lights and lush gardens create the perfect ambiance for outdoor events. There is plenty of space to set up tables and chairs on the front lawn of the house, as well as a partially covered patio area.

This is a gorgeous spot for weddings and other events. The house allows you to have privacy within your own space, but also to easily gather for meals or to go to the beach together. The interior design is beautifully done and is very photogenic.

The location of the house is amazing, as it is just steps away from the beach and the Venice Pier. This is the perfect spot for surfing, relaxing on the beach, or walking along the boardwalk. It is close to many popular restaurants, bars, and cafes; you truly are in the heart of Venice Beach!

Fun Activities in the Area:

  • Take a stroll through the Venice Canals Walkway.
  • Grab breakfast tacos or deli sandwiches 'to-go' from Cows End, and set up a beach picnic lunch or brunch!
  • Eat brunch or sip a sunset margarita at Baja Cantina.
