On this particular day the skies wound up being not-so-blue, and part of the charm of this adorable Arkansas wedding at Twin Oaks Ranch is in the way this couple rolled with the droplets of rain that fell during their outdoor ceremony in a grove of trees. A few umbrellas opened up as this barefoot bride made her way down the cobblestone aisle to meet her groom at the altar for a moment of cheers and joyful tears just before exchanging vows.

Once inside the property’s rustic old barn, the party really kicked up as the rain settled down. Located totally off the grid, just outside Dardanelle, this high-ceiling wood slatted barn has that perfect outdoor/indoor vibe with a covered patio and enough space for a party of up to 225 folks.

Stephanie Parsley, the awesome eye behind the lens at this fête, managed to capture some gorgeous imagery of this fun-loving crew’s celebration. She walks us through some tidbits about the venue, the grounds, and the challenge of choosing a favorite design element on-site.

What were some of the highlights of your experiences at the venue?

The highlights I remember from this day have to be how easy it is to work there. I love the work crew and the ladies that help run it because they make everything so easy! They are so creative and work SO hard to make sure their couples (and photographers) are happy and that's something I really appreciate.

What made the venue a great backdrop and setting for photos?

My favorite set up for venues is a forest and Barn at Twin Oaks is great for that. The outside set up they have for their couples is so simple and elegant and it sets up the forest vibe perfectly. Also, no matter what.. it always has perfect lighting! Another key thing they have is a giant wooden swing big enough to fit a bridal party on. It's absolutely gorgeous and unique.

Favorite existing design elements of the venue?

The outside forest location for weddings, the gorgeous barn, the giant swing, the beautiful fields, the horses, the bridge, everything. I really can't pick a favorite.

This wedding is solid proof that a little rain won’t ruin your Best Day Ever. If anything, it gets guests even more amped up to celebrate and enjoy the messiness that comes along with a little bit of mud. And, hey, for the record, they say it’s good luck when it rains on your wedding day. Not that these two need any of that – they look pretty lucky as it is.
