The Venue Report team was recently invited to follow the call of the disco ball by the team at Be Inspired PR. Ummmm, who would pass up on that kind of invitation?! Take us to our happy place please. In addition to the promise of disco tunes, delicious food and jungle vibes, we were extra excited to attend this annual #TasselsandTastemakers event because it was being held at one of our fave Los Angeles venues, HNYPT.
We walked into the stunning and dramatic blank warehouse that is HNYPT ready to rev up our boozing engines. We were promptly greeted with glittery crafted cocktails, suspended palm fronds, neon lava lamps slowly dancing to the music, sparkling fringe hanging from the rafters and tunes blasting from every corner of the sprawling space. This crew of creatives crafted a jaw-dropper one part "Saturday Night Fever" stayin alive and one part bohemian jungle feels.

When Be Inspired PR approached us to design a disco for the ages, we couldn't help but feel like the dream had fallen into our laps! Not only was it a chance to design something that felt so completely us, but it was also a night to celebrate our industry besties and another amazing years as Tastemakers. Needless to say, it had to be epic. With 70s tropical boho taking center stage at the VIP dinner, we really wanted the disco to feel like the natural nighttime evolution of the preceding party.

As the drinks flow and the sun sets, the guests get a little more cheeky, a little more wild, and suddenly, you find yourself in an explosion of Boho meets Disco. The wonderful thing about HNYPT is that it offers a blank canvas, allowing the event design to really stand on its own. And of course, we couldn't get over the added bonus of being able to use the existing beams to hang and rig from, which let us take our vision to whole new heights (literally)!
Guests entered the space through a drawn back beaded curtain, and were greeted by disco ball everything. Clusters of mirror balls hung from the ceiling, flanked bars and DJ tables, nestled around lounges and dazzled from the 20ft wall treatment. And of course, no 70s shindig would be complete without Lava lamps and neon everything!
We really wanted to take the glow of the night to the next level, so we paired clusters of lava lamps with neon signage and menus, along with custom cut neon serving trays for 24 Carrots stunning tray passed treats!
The whole room was really drawn together by the custom prismatic dance floor wash by Elevated Pulse, something we die over with every photo. But perhaps our favorite detail was the chance to get spray paint trigger happy with some of our favorite 70s lyrics and perfecting disco lines. We loved seeing guests sharing these totally Insta-worthy details!
