There’s no question that Chicago is one of the best dining destinations in the country, coming in hot with a solid 25 Michelin-starred restaurants. Delicious food, wine and comfortable spaces can be found throughout the city, but the places with the best atmosphere to host a private party are the topic of today’s round up. From a sweet loft space in Lincoln Park with its own floral wall to a riverfront social house with a buzzing atmosphere, there’s a spot for just about any gathering you might have up your sleeve.

Paris312 is a pretty white-and-blush toned space in Lincoln Park that’s just the right size to celebrate the holidays with friends, host an anniversary party or gather the troops for a dinner party of up to 50 guests. The bright and cheerful party-ready space has a marble-and-brass bar setup, a complete floral wall and a couple of cherry blossom trees for décor.
Michelin-starred Elske in West Loop brings together the hygge of Danish design with modern American food. Private dining here takes over the second floor of the restaurant, seating up to 24 guests at a large communal table, or using the room for a cocktail style event with a larger group.
For Italian fare just like Nonna made and an epic 600-bottle wine list, head to Fulton Market District’s Formento’s. The loft-like space on the second floor includes a couple of private event set-ups, and you can host as many as 200 guests at the restaurant.
Set inside a huge factory in West Loop’s Restaurant Row, bellyQ is a laid back lounge space where guests can enjoy a proper cocktail hour before heading into a formal dining room for dinner. The best thing about hosting a party here? There’s a private karaoke lounge!
If a swanky Americana steakhouse is the vibe you’d like for your next gathering, it doesn’t get any better than this former cold storage facility in the heart of the meatpacking district. Swift & Sons is a gorgeous space with original stained glass lighting and mosaic marble floors, and it includes an oyster bar plus two private dining rooms with their own bar.
You’ll have a whopping six event spaces to choose from when you host your throwdown at River Roast, set just on the banks of the Chicago River. Multi-James Beard Award-winning Chef Tony Mantuano is at the helm of this lively social house where the menus are inspired by London’s roast houses, and include dishes like slow-cooked beef or whole roasted fish that can easily be shared among friends.
Let your inner bon vivant shine when you host a party at this glamorous French restaurant in Chicago’s River North. From the champagne cave with a vault full of Taittinger Champagne to the apartment with silk drapes and a baby grand piano, Marchesa offers various dining and lounging spaces, each with its own feeling of intimate opulence.
Your venue options for hosting a private party at the Park Hyatt Chicago include a seventh-floor restaurant overlooking Lake Michigan, a cozy art gallery, an urban rooftop garden, a ballroom and various other meeting spaces. Here, guests can get a great feel for all downtown Chicago has to offer.
