When a new hotel’s design influences range from Wes Anderson's strong color palettes to Dostoevsky's idea that “beauty will save the world,” we know it’s going to be something epic. At The Box Hotel in Riccione, not only does a beautiful world of color, texture and layer keep your eyes dancing, but the proximity to the sea of Riccione is sure to be a feast for the senses too. This design hotel opened in June 2018 in a charming Italian town that sits right along the Adriatic Riviera and combines the landscape of wide beaches just steps away with views of the surrounding medieval villages in the hills.

An International Medley of Design
Inside the 40 guest rooms, you’ll find a mix of furnishings that take inspiration from around the world. There’s the seating from Knoll and Poland’s 366 Concept, the handmade brass lamps from Lebanese lighting company PSLab and the bedside tables from Moroso, just to name a few. It’s easy to tell from first glance that the owners of this design-focused hotel are expert travelers, as they’ve created a place that beckons the traveler in all of us – the kind of place that feels like home if home were just a little more glamorous.
Una Festa Bellisima
Considering hosting an event while you’re in town? For a gathering with a small group, there’s the pink pong room with a powdery pink ping-pong table your crew can gather ‘round. Or, if you’re hosting a bigger soiree, there’s a full-sized penthouse apartment overlooking the sea that’s perfect for an event of up to 50 guests. Complete with an open-plan kitchen, lounge area, dining space and large terrace, this space is gorgeous for a cocktail party, dinner with a personal chef, birthday gathering or any other intimate, celebratory occasion.
It’s a MAD World
For larger gatherings, or if you’re just in need of a fabulous meal, head downstairs to MAD restaurant on the ground floor of the hotel. From the vintage French posters on the walls to the Scandi furniture, the space is like a little jewel box of international styling highlights. Here, you’ll find creative and classic cocktails on the menu along with many delicious Italian wines. You’ll have options like freshly baked croissants and scrambled eggs for breakfast or brunch. And throughout the day, bites like the Caesar salad with grilled salmon or heftily layered club sandwiches are available.
Live Like Locals
Interested in booking into cooking classes with a group of traveling friends? Or maybe mixology is more your style. And if you’re more into relaxing, shopping and hanging on the beach to catch some rays, you couldn’t ask for a better proximity to all of the above.
